Reflections from the Halal Awareness Seminar at the 4th Seafood Festival 2025!!!
As part of the 4th Seafood Festival, CRIMA in collaboration with the Center for Halal Awareness, Research and Training (CHARTT), organized a specialized seminar bringing forward expert insights on halal compliance, seafood safety, and Pakistan’s evolving food standards.
DG Punjab Food Authority, Mr. Asim Javed, praised the professionalism and creativity displayed by students across culinary projects, processing demonstrations, and hygiene models. He underlined that the seafood sector demands strict adherence to halal standards, global hygiene benchmarks, quality certification procedures, and scientific laboratory verification. He acknowledged the students’ demonstrated skills as a key indicator of Pakistan’s ability to advance towards a safe, standardized, and internationally competitive seafood industry.
Prof. Dr. Sajid Mehmood Shahzad, Vice Chancellor of Minhaj University Lahore, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to connecting academic learning with professional realities. He emphasized that activities such as this seminar not only strengthen student knowledge but also foster industry readiness—equipping graduates with competencies aligned to both national expectations and global halal maritime markets.
Esteemed guests also expressed their appreciation for CRIMA and CHARTT’s initiative, recognizing the seminar as a meaningful step in bridging academia, regulatory bodies, and industry through informed dialogue and applied learning.
