Introduction
Community exchange is a social initiative that has been envisioned and registered in 2017 by Nina Kazi. Our aim is to provide space and opportunity that will serve the community by offering a platform for community trade and exchange. We will engage, motivate, equip and enable the community members to buy and sell, good and services, in a safe and structured environment with a defined civic purpose. Community exchange can contribute as a vehicle for upward mobility to various targeted groups such as students and home-run start-ups, charities, indigenous artisanal talent; and other such niche groups within the community seeking access to such platforms.
It is absolutely imperative to understand that our venue is NOT aimed at creating space for existing businesses; instead we are giving the opportunity to those niche groups to interact with the public as a community seeking to trade and transact. There is a great void in our society for community activities that can benefit the common man.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that there is an absence of safe forums in our country through which trade exchanges and interactions can take place between individuals. There is an old nugget of wisdom that states “one man’s junk is another’s mans treasure” and so can even become an amazing opportunity for thrift lovers, to find great second-hand goods at amazing prices.
It is a perfect venue to enable and empower those who seek to monetize their skills and talents. For example, a housewife can come to the Community Exchange venue (s) in order to channelize her potential/entrepreneurial talent through this space. Pakistan is rich in Arts & Crafts, we plan to aid in the development and promotion of our cultural heritage by offering people of Small & Cottage Industries booth space. Other target markets we are aiming at are Home run businesses, Young entrepreneurs, business start-ups, charitable organizations and the opportunity for businesses to recycle their goods.
