TEDx is a platform where noteworthy ideas can be shared with the hope of spreading them within the community. TED is a non-profit organisation which started in California in 1984. Today, the foundation holds events all over the world in over 100 languages, backed by the slogan of ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’. A TEDx event is a local gathering where live talks similar to ones delivered at a TED event and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community. These events are planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis. The content and design of each TEDx event is unique in its own manner with the general structure remaining the same. The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organisations and individuals to spark conversations and connect through local TED-like experiences.
