Amid mounting tension in the housing sector, Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito called on the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) to address developer complaints of backlogs and bottlenecks in the approval of housing projects.

At issue is Memorandum Circular No. 2025-14, issued by the department last November.

The appeal comes on the heels of a recent Gallup report that ranked the Philippines as the least affordable country for housing—an outcome industry leaders say underscores the urgent need to rethink existing mechanisms.US PH Business
