🕯️ DILAAB: A Candlelit Tribute to Filipino Music 🕯️

DILAAB is a Filipino word that means “blaze” or “passionate flame.” It speaks of light, warmth, and emotion -- the kind of atmosphere we try to create in every DILAAB event.

In this special edition, we're shining a light on the music of Trina Belamide, one of OPM’s most loved songwriters. Her songs have made people smile, cry, fall in love, and feel seen. For a weekend, we’re bringing them to life in a whole new way, through the sound of a string quartet and the glow of candlelight.

We’re also celebrating the recent launch of Trina’s book, TriLogy: The Songs of Trina Belamide. It's a beautiful collection of stories, lead sheets, photos, and memories from her 30 years of songwriting. If you’ve ever been touched by one of her songs, this book will feel like coming home. Copies will be available at a special discounted price when you buy a ticket, and each one will come pre-signed with a personalized dedication. While there won’t be an on-site book signing, Trina will be present that weekend, making the experience even more special.

More than a performance, this is a shared space for listening, remembering, and feeling together. Whether you're a longtime fan or just getting to know her music, we’d love to spend this evening with you.

Here's a lovely snap of Trina Belamide joining us at our recent DILAAB evening at the Main Gallery of the Y Space at the Yuchengco Museum. Surrounded by candlelight and rondalla music, it was a night of Filipino melodies that felt truly special.

We're so excited to welcome her back on August 9 & 10 for another intimate edition of Dilaab: Candlelit Experiences. This time, a string quartet will bring her most loved songs to life, with arrangements by Darren Vega, in a space filled with warmth, light, and a touch of magic.

We're also celebrating TriLogy, Trina’s new book looking back on 30 years of songwriting. Copies will be available at a special discounted price during the shows, with pre-signed dedications to make your copy extra meaningful.

And in just two weeks, we're coming back to that same space, this time with strings and the heartfelt songs of Trina Belamide.

On August 9 and 10, join us for another edition of DILAAB, where we slow down, listen closely, and let music speak. A string quartet will bring Trina’s most loved songs to life in an intimate setting filled with warmth, light, and a bit of magic.

In partnership with Y Space at the Yuchengco Museum, this special candlelit edition celebrates the richness of Filipino music -- from folk and traditional pieces to songs we've all grown up with, played to us by a rondalla quartet from the Musiko Filipino Rondalla.

In celebration of Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino, in partnership with Y Space at the Yuchengco Museum, we're putting together a special edition of DILAAB that highlights the beauty of Filipino music. A rondalla quartet from the Musiko Filipino Rondalla will fill the space with familiar melodies, performing an all-Filipino repertoire that brings together folk, traditional, and well-loved popular songs.

With candlelight surrounding you, and the delicate sound of bandurrias and octavinas in the air, let yourself be carried through stories and memories told through music. It's a gentle reminder of where we come from and what connects us.

This isn’t just a concert. It’s a shared experience -- intimate, heartfelt, and thoughtfully put together to celebrate our roots through light, sound, and feeling.

Can I bring my children to watch this show?

Our recommended rating for this show is PG13. We can welcome younger kids but at your own risk. Given the nature of our performance (it’s improvised!), we cannot guarantee that the whole show will be wholesome and child-friendly. They will also need their own ticket.
