Last week, Japan's and Borussia Dortmund, Shinji Kagawa came to Tacloban to meet and play football with our Football For Life Life and Girls Community League league

We will share more about his visit soon.... For now, here is a sneak-peak and some photos Shinji shared on his page

All we can say is that he was quite popular and that he definitely has a lot more new friends from the Philippines!

Wow.......What a weekend!

Amazing work by the Football For Life team to support Giuseppe Football Club anFundLife International in delivering the 7th Sama-Sama Games in the province of Cebu!

9th Dec - SMS Girlstown, Talisay, Cebu

Over 600 players and coaches, supported by over 25 organisers gathered to participate in the 7th Annual Sama-Sama Games, which this partnered with Generation Amazing, a football-focused corporate social development programme of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Qatar’s delivery and legacy authority for the 2022 FIFA World Cup™.

Giuseppe Football Club (GFC), from Cebu City supported the festival as the Cebu-based local partner for FundLife.

The mass community participation fustal event was the culmination of the festival, which also included a 2-day young leaders training workshop, a press launch to announce Cebu's first girls community league, as well as the having the first round of league games kicking-off on Saturday, 8th Dec 2018.

The festival closed one day before World Human Rights Day - attempting to show how through sports dignity, equality and harmony can be given to all people and children, regardless of where they are from.

Come join us later for Game On! A Sama-Sama Games Pre-Launch Party to officially kick off the tournament's preparations and promotions.

Swing by Pugon for games, music, and chill as we gather for a fun and casual Friday night with community leaders, educators, influencers, creatives, trusted brands, and change makers who are interested in working together to make education and equal opportunities accessible to children regardless of age, gender, religion, and social background.

Doors open at 7. See you there!

SAMA SAMA GAMES DAY 1

Our U12 Mixed, U14 Boys, and U17 Girls compete for the Championship on Day 1 of Sama Sama Games!

It was a great day for all of us, especially for the participants from the U12 and U14 Categories, as they had a special football session care of Green Archers United (We’ll let you know more about that in coming weeks, so stay tuned for updates!)

Congratulations to all the winners and participants, and a huge thank you to our Official Venue Partner, Bethel International School, and our Official Partner, Globe Telecom Republika ng TM, for making this event possible!

Sama Sama Games 2016

The Sama Sama Games aims to use the power of sports to unite youth from diverse backgrounds, and the past weekend was a testament to that. Everyone played their best, exemplified sportsmanship, and showed great teamwork throughout the games. We hope the tournament delivered a very important message - that we are all ONE. :)

Congratulations to all teams who joined, especially to the winners of the different categories! :D

The Sama-Sama Games is hosted by FundLife International in partnership with Streetlight Philippines, Phoenix Football Club, and the Leyte Football Association.
