On behalf of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, the AdHoc Committee wishes to express its deepest apologies for the short notice, delays, and any inconvenience these changes of schedule might have caused.
As the AdHoc Committee recognizes the effort, preparation, and excitement felt in looking forward to this event, due to the consecutive unforeseen circumstances, the committee sincerely regrets the need to make an adjustment on short notice. After all, the committeeโs gratitude goes out to the student body for their grace, patience, and understanding during this time.
After careful deliberation and coordination with the college, the Committee would like to share an important update regarding Gawad Iskolar 2026:
1. Gawad Iskolar: Senior Send-Off Ceremony
A dedicated Send-Off Ceremony will still proceed this coming Wednesday, September 9, 2026, exclusively for recent graduates which are the batch of 2026.
As the seniors prepare to step out into the world beyond the Pamantasan, it is an honor for the college to properly award them with honor, warmth, and recognition they have rightfully earned over years of dedicated effort.
2. Postponement for 1st to 3rd Year Scholars
Due to necessary adjustments in event capacity and program flow, the awarding for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year CHASSmates will be postponed for the time being.
Rather than a standalone event, the recognition will be integrated into upcoming events of the college, giving more time for preparation and a better experience for the students. This decision does not diminish the efforts and achievements of the CHASSmates; instead, it provides the Committee with an opportunity to prepare a more fitting activity that will give them the recognition they truly deserve.
The Committee acknowledges that changes in such activity may bring dissatisfaction, but full responsibility is taken for these necessary adjustments. Nevertheless, the Committee remains deeply grateful for the CHASSmatesโ unwavering support, trust, patience, and commitment to excellence.
Together, the journey of the graduating CHASSmates will be celebrated while looking forward to honoring every single scholar in the days ahead.
