Before injuries changed everything, the 2026 Los Angeles Lakers were easily one of the most entertaining teams in basketball.
Every night felt like an offensive masterclass led by Luka Dončić, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves.
Luka controlled the game like a chess player manipulating defenses, forcing switches, and creating shots out of nothing.
LeBron became the perfect second engine. One possession he’s setting everyone up, the next he’s attacking downhill like nobody can stop him.
Then there was Reaves…
The connector that made everything flow.
Cutting at the perfect time.
Knocking down open shots.
Punishing defenses whenever they overcommitted to Luka or LeBron.
And that’s what made the trio so dangerous.
There was no clear “your turn, my turn” basketball.
Any of them could initiate the offense.
Any defensive mistake got punished instantly.
For stretches, the ball movement looked effortless and the offense felt impossible to guard.
Even late in games, it always felt like they had another answer waiting.
Then injuries hit… rhythm disappeared… and the version of the Lakers everyone fell in love with suddenly vanished.
But for a while?
They were must-watch basketball every single night. 👀🔥
