We would like to address the concerns raised by Mr. Ej on his page regarding the recent event.
We acknowledge that there were some lapses on our part during the event. The GPX route was initially posted on August 16, but due to safety and economic considerations, we made the decision to change the route. The updated route sequence was then posted on our page on August 20 and thoroughly discussed during the race briefing.
Unfortunately, Mr. Ej missed the overall race briefing as he arrived late. While he did inquire about the GPX route from one of our staff members, it was not the same individual who had discussed the route during the briefing. On the day of the race, there was a miscommunication by the replacement emcee who mistakenly referenced the old GPX route that had been changed.
Despite of the marshalls
instructions at the Molann Aid Station about the correct route going to Big Rock, Mr. Ej continued on the route he had planned based on the outdated GPX file. As a result, he deviated from the official route that had been clearly outlined during the race briefing and posted on our page on August 20. In the interest of fairness to all participants who followed the official route, the race director made the decision to disqualify Mr. Ej for being off-course.
It is important to note that Mr. Ej was informed that he was off-course at Sabangan Aid Station and was also informed of his disqualification at the Kibalabag Aid Station by RD yet he chose to continue on the incorrect route.
We kindly remind all participants to adhere to the rules and guidelines of the race, particularly rules #6, #17, and #22, as well as the final reminder posted on our page.
Please respect the decision made by the Race Director, as it is final. We hope that you will also support our advocacy for sportsmanship. While you are entitled to your opinion, we must also adhere to our Race Rules & Guidelines to ensure fairness.
We acknowledge that there may have been some shortcomings in the race implementation, but we are actively working to address these issues and strive for continuous improvement. There is no need to prolong the discussion on this matter. Trail running is a sport that is open to all individuals seeking personal growth, improved health, and camaraderie. It is about more than just winning; it is about the journey and the experiences gained along the way. Let us view this situation as a learning opportunity and a chance to enhance our future events.
May we all continue to promote trail running as a form of therapy and a means of personal development. Let us keep moving forward and thank you for your understanding and support.
