KASIBU: TOURISM TRAVEL EXPO BOOTH 2024
โโ
The Tourism Travel Expo Booth Grand Ammungan Festival 2024 Exhibit highlights Kasibuโs natural landscapes and bountiful farmlands, along with the Kasibunians handmade crafts and weavings.
โโAs the Citrus Capital of Luzon, Kasibu boasts the abundance of citrus in the municipality โ producing high quality products exported locally and internationally.
โโ
The citrus has a great significance for the Kasibunians as it stands as a beacon of luck, abundance, prosperity and fortune. Its leaves โ with their glossy sheen and sharp, pointed tips โ speak of resilience and growth. They are the silent guardians of the fruit, cradling it as tender blossoms to a robust symbol of abundance. Each leaf, unique in its contour and texture, is a testament to the diversity and adaptability of Kasibuโs spirit. As the citrus fruits and leaves hold a place of honor in the heart of Kasibu, they weave a narrative of enduring prosperity and boundless fortune. Together, they stand as symbols of a community that thrives on the principles of unity, strength, and ingenuity.
โโ
The municipalityโs Travel Expo Booth portrays citrus fruits held by towering pillars and gigantic leaves with a mosaic faรงade of interwoven basket and loom weavings.
โโ
The mosaic faรงade of the leaves depicts the several weavings and handicrafts of the Kasibunuans. The Mun-abol shawls, made from fabric, are crafted in a chain rib weave with embroidered loom weaving pattern. These fabrics are distinguished by interlaced fibers of different and dominant colors, stripes, and motifs of geometric patterns. The shawls are versatile and can be worn as skirts or scarves. Created with the utmost care and precision, these woven pieces reflect the weaversโ dedication. The Mun-abol represents ancestral connections, creativity, culture, tradition, and conveys messages about the weaverโs identity and cultural heritage. The handicraft baskets are profound symbols of tradition, creativity, and community interconnectedness. They represent the collective knowledge and skills of artisans, often showcasing unique designs that reflect the cultural identity of their makers. The process of creating these baskets is a communal activity that strengthens social bonds and passes on valuable knowledge to future generations. Each basket weaves together stories of the community, its natural resources, and the artistic expression of the individual. Itโs a wonderful example of how traditional arts can foster a sense of belonging and continuity within a community.
โโ
The pillars holding the citrus fruits conveys a testament of the municipalityโs rich natural resources and cultural heritage. The bamboo pillar, beyond its ecological role, is a cornerstone of local craftsmanship. In Kasibu, bamboo is transformed into a variety of products from baskets and lanterns, to furniture and musical instruments. Bamboo trees โ as a symbol of communityโs resilience, versatility, and adaptability โ is widely used in crafts and everyday items, showcasing how sustainable practices can lead to the creation of both functional and artistic items that are integral to daily life. The basket pillar, the Kayabang, is not merely a basket; it is a symbol of the rich cultural tapestry and the industrious spirit of Kasibu. The Kayabang is emblematic of the Ibaloi womenโs strength and grace, as they skillfully balance the demands of agricultural life with the art of weaving. It stands as a pillar in Kasibu, not just in physical form, but as a pillar of identity, resilience, and cultural pride.
โโ
Indeed, The Citrus Festival of Kasibu, serves as a thanksgiving celebration, not only for the abundant harvest of various citrus fruits but also for the entire range of agricultural products in Kasibu. This vibrant festival aims to highlight and promote the diverse offerings and services of the locality, showcasing its continuous progress in agriculture, ecotourism, culture, and the arts, following its declaration as the Citrus Capital of Luzon.
