TRIBU ATUB-ATUB | DINAGYANG 2007
Founded on May 5, 1971, by Joaquin Santiago Sr. and his family, Tribu Atub-Atub began as an expression of their devotion to the Holy Child Jesus, whom they believed had continuously blessed their family.
The tribe originated in Barangay Veterans Village, Iloilo City. Its name is said to have come from the word tuba, or coconut w**e, spelled backward as atub, which became Atub-Atub.
Tribu Atub-Atub became one of the pioneering groups in Dinagyang, known for its choreographed theatrical warrior dances, indigenous-inspired costumes, and powerful drumbeats. Through the years, the tribe established a legacy of faith, cultural expression, and competitive excellence.
