Super tahum! ๐Ÿ˜Œ

CineMatahum is just getting more tahum every year!

We are delighted to announce that Cinematahum is now recognized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines as an official cinema event and film festival.

This means that Cinematahum will now closely work with FDCP to deliver not only films from the region but also strengthen Cinematahum's thrust in film education through workshops and capacity building for regional filmmakers through expanded networking events during and after the festival run.

Excited to unveil in the coming months a more expanded and inclusive Cinematahum 2026!

Truly, ikaw ang tahum sa Cinematahum!

Held at the Miagao Interactive Learning Center (MILC), the festival gathered students, filmmakers, and film enthusiasts for two days of screenings and discussions that highlighted the growing appreciation for local cinema. What started as a simple celebration evolved into a collective experience of laughter, reflection, and admiration for the artistry of Western Visayan filmmakers.

The event showcased a diverse lineup of films that captured the regionโ€™s culture, language, and everyday stories. Each screening drew enthusiastic participation, reflecting how the communityโ€™s engagement brought the narratives on screen to life.
Following the Miagao leg, Cinematahum continues its celebration of regional storytelling with a series of screenings at the UPV Iloilo City campus Cinematheque from October 22 to 25, expanding its reach to a wider audience within the university.

Cinematahum 2025 reaffirmed the power of cinema as a space for connection and cultural expression, emphasizing that true beauty shines when communities unite in support of local artistry.
