Greenleaf Hotel Brings Honor to General Santos at Philippine Tourism Awards 2025

General Santos City proudly celebrates another milestone as Greenleaf Hotel Gensan received the Tourism Industry Award for Hotel during the Philippine Tourism Awards 2025 held today, September 8, 2025 at Okada Manila, Parañaque City.

The award was personally accepted by Mr. Bryan G. Teng, owner of Greenleaf Hotel Gensan, bringing pride not only to the establishment but also to the entire city and Region XII.

The Local Government of General Santos, under the leadership of Mayor Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao, together with CEMCDO Department Head Dr. Leonard V. Flores and Tourism Division Chief Eliodoro Y. Alcaya, Jr., recognizes this achievement as a testament to the city’s growing strength in tourism and hospitality.

LGU-GenSan - City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office/Gensan Tourism Promotions Division joins the Philippine Institute For Development Studies (PIDS) and the rest of the nation in celebrating Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) this September.

This annual event, established through Malacañang Proclamation No. 247, s. 2002, seeks to raise nationwide awareness about the critical role of policy research in shaping national development plans, programs, and policies.

This study assesses the adequacy of school infrastructure in the Philippine basic education sector while benchmarking it against developmental targets and other countries’ performance. It finds that with respect to classrooms, there has been progress in decongesting schools, but spatial inequality in the classroom-student ratio persists and requires attention.
