All good stories come to an end… but all journeys continue regardless🐦‍🔥

To all participants; whether that be debater, judge, CAP member, or even observer — thank you for making this Philippine Intercollegiate Debating Championship possible. Know that every speech, oral adjudication, and contribution has given this year’s national a shining light that canno

Some narratives may end in debate, while others are just starting — what matters is regardless, we continue to create and bear witness to these in debate, in our own lives, and in the society around us. ⚔️

What matters now is how we tell these narratives of the journeys we and others live. 📖

Once again, thank you - and see you next year!

Our heroes’ journey has been completed with PIDC 2026 Awarding! 🏇🤺

For the past four days, debaters from all over the Philippines clashed and came together this PIDC 2026, with today marking our journey’s end with our Awarding Ceremony! 👑

📜 Our world has changed through traditions of old to the vivid color we live in today — debating allows us to narrate and tell these stories through each speech, response, rebuttal, and memory we forge with it. 🍀

🌇 PIDC 2026 may come to an end tonight, but that does not mean that our stories end here. We continue to narrate and tell these stories after — and all our journeys have just begun.

We would like to thank our media partners:
🛡️ When In Manila
🛡️ Monsters RX 93.1

This tournament is hosted by the University of the Philippines Debate Society.

PIDC 2026 Open Finals

🏰 Gov: ADMU A
⚔️ Opp: UPM A

Motion: THBT our world contains more meaning than Paraiso.

In the alternate world of Paraiso, all material resources are infinite and non-rival. Humans live forever, cannot sustain injury, and experience no form of physical suffering.

PIDC 2026 Sinag Finals

🏰 Gov: FEU GMC
⚔️ Opp: ADDU LANU

Motion: THBT rising Filipino artists in the mainstream should prioritize strengthening their local fanbase over expanding their global fanbase.

PIDC 2026 Sinag Semis Room 6

🏰 Gov: FEU GMC
⚔️ Opp: ADNU BAD

PIDC 2026 Open Octos Room 5

🏰 Gov: UPM A
⚔️ Opp: UPLB B

Motion: THS Laos's pursuit of the strategy of becoming the "Battery of Southeast Asia."

Laos has pursued a strategy of becoming the "Battery of Southeast Asia" by building large-scale hydroelectric dams and exporting electricity to neighboring countries such as Thailand and Vietnam. Many of these projects are financed and constructed by foreign investors, particularly from China, often through long-term concession or Build–Operate–Transfer agreements where ownership may eventually transfer to the Laos government after 25-30 years.

14/06/2026

PIDC 2026 Partial Double Octos

🏰 Gov: UPC A
⚔️ Opp: ADZU A

Motion: THBT the anti-AI movement should prioritize using a firm-centric critique of AI adoption rather than a worker-centric critique.

A firm-centric critique focuses on AI adoption being harmful to firms, such as integration being costly, unreliable, or not producing meaningful productivity gains. A worker-centric critique focuses on AI adoption being harmful to workers, such as it leading to job loss, wage suppression, or weakened bargaining power.
