๐ฅSIGLO ultramarathon Runner Spotlight : ISIDRO CABANDAY JR.
Some runners chase speed.
Some chase podiums.
But there are runners like Isidro . . .
the ones who just keep goingโฆ no matter what.
He once passed out during Agusa 100 Miles . . .
no support vehicle, no shortcuts, just pure grit.
And stillโฆ he belongs on the road.
Because for him, running isnโt about beating others.
Itโs simple.
โRun at your own pace. Donโt compare.
Just runโฆ while you still can.โ
At 80KM and beyond . . .
when the body starts to question everything . . .
even he hears it:
"Nganong mi-enter ko ani?" ๐
But he keeps moving anyway.
Fuel?
Cloud 9 + Blue Gatorade. Solid.
Soundtrack?
Bon Jovi โ Slippery When Wet
Because sometimes, you donโt need motivation,
you just need something loud enough to drown the doubt.
And like every real ultrarunnerโฆ
heโs had his moments:
Running while looking for a gas station CR
like itโs part of the race strategy ๐
Talking to himself mid-run,
reminding his legs to finishโฆ
because sayang ang gastosโฆ and yes, pati freebies ๐
But beyond all thatโฆ
His dream isnโt just distance.
Itโs to run across LuzViMinda . . .
not aloneโฆ
but with family. โค๏ธ
Because at the end of every long road . . .
itโs never just about the finish line.
Itโs about who you carry with you.
This is Isidro Jr.
Not the fastest.
Not the flashiest.
But real.
Relentless.
And still running.
