Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Exposition (PHTTE) is an organization that promotes trade and tourism by showcasing wide range of halal foods, products, and services. Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Exposition (PHTTE) is under the umbrella of Universal Islamic Foundation (UIF) which is formerly known as Universal Islamic Center (UIC), a non-stock and non-government organization that caters the needs of Muslims and Non-Muslims by providing them with a place for worship and Islamic education. Thus, she initiated the creation of PHTTE. PHTTE aims to conduct halal businesses, domestic and international, related to halal foods and services to cater our BIMP-EAGA market. It also promotes halal certified products, as well as development, processing, and marketing of agricultural products. Government agencies such as the Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), Davao City Tourism, and Davao City Investment Promotion Center (DCIPC) and private sectors like small & medium enterprises (SMEs), and other major tourism players have been supporting PHTTE. Foreign investors from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore have also shown their support. During the PHTTE 2017, His Excellency Mohammed Saleh Badri, Secretary-General of International Halal Accreditation Forum (IHAF) from Dubai graced his presence as a guest speaker. The Philippine Halal Expo sets to gather various players and stakeholders of the Trade and Tourism Industry with the following goals:
1) To showcase a wide range of halal products, food and tourism services from local to international companies
2) To increase the level of awareness on the principles and concepts of Halal
3) To discover the latest travel & tour trends and deals that promote tailored halal tourism products and services.
