Our entry for this year’s Miss Isabela 2024
QUEEN ISABELA
The Embodiment of Representation and Celebration
This breathtaking creative attire is a true homage to the essence of an Isabeleño woman--courageous, kind, respected, selfless, calm, loyal, and deeply devoted. Every detail of this masterpiece has been meticulously crafted to symbolize the richness of Isabela’s heritage and the virtues of its people.
The intricate designs, featuring a harmonious blend of thousands of pearls, beads, crystals, and trimmings, are thoughtfully arranged to evoke purity, innocence, wisdom, wealth, and confidence. The choice of fabrics, textures, and colors mirrors the vibrance and resilience of Isabeleños, while the flowing panels of the gown tell a story of culture, history, and faith.
At its heart, this attire celebrates the bountiful harvests of Isabela, the “Queen Province of the North.” Icons of the region’s primary livelihoods--the bounty corn, verdant rice stalks, the aromatic to***co leaves and the Quirino’s “baraniw”(lemon grass) --are interwoven into the design, representing prosperity and abundance. The scarecrow, a central figure of the renowned Bambanti Festival, stands as a testament to the creativity and industriousness of the Isabeleños, while subtle Christian symbols pay homage to the deep faith that unites the majority of its people.
The crowning glory of this ensemble is the headdress, symbolizing the queenly significance of Queen Isabella of Spain. Adorned with elements reminiscent of the regal adornments of the Spanish monarchy, it serves as a tribute to the historical figure after whom the province is named. The headdress not only enhances the royal aesthetic but also bridges the rich cultural heritage of Isabela with its historical roots.
With every gleaming crystal and every intricately embroidered detail, this attire captures the essence of Isabela—a province of grace, resilience, and unity. Truly, Queen Jasmine Claire Alcantara from the Municipality of Quirino, embodies the spirit of Queen Isabela, a celebration of heritage, harvest, and hope.
