Gilas suffered a heartbreaking loss to the hands of Tunisia with a big margin 86-67. This loss closes the door to Gilas Pilipinas for the hope to qualify to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. What a shame for Philippine basketball. Bad coaching staff particularly to the head coach Yeng Guiao. I think that coach Tab Baldwin or Chot Reyes should be the head coach due to their experience in the international tournament. Bad player rotation, lack of shooters, wrong choice of players, short preparation for only just 10 days. This gilas team is arguably the worst national team i've witnessed in the past few years. I believe that in the 2023 world cup, we can absolutely compete with the best in the world by the development of the younger and talented players like Kai Sotto and Ricci Rivero. I also believe that Andray Blatche should be replaced because he is not that young anymore to battle up with younger and faster opponents. Atlast, it is a lesson to remember that wrong player selction and insufficient preparation can't give desirable results. But with all these negative comments, still, congratulations to the gilas program for making to the world stage.
