Manggagawa Festival sa Brgy. Cut-cut I, Capas, Tarlac The Manggagawa Festival is an annual celebration leading to the collectively celebrate of an event in Brgy. Cutcut 1st celebrating the Feast of St.

Joseph the Worker and International Workers’ Day or Labor Day. The Manggagawa Festival is an annual celebration of different plans, programs, activities and events from April 22 to May 1 of every year, based on the joint efforts involving Barangay Council of Cut-cut I, St. Joseph the Worker Parish, and Villa San Jose Subdivision Homeowners Association to collectively celebrate the Barangay Fiesta,

Feast of St. Celebrating May 1st as the Barangay Fiesta, Feast Day of St. Joseph the Worker and International Workers’ Day or Labor Day holds special significance towards the three institutions:

• The Barangay Cut-cut I is part of the ecclesial jurisdiction of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

• The titular patron saint of the parish is under St. Joseph the Worker who is the patron saint of workers and advocates “dignity of work” – which is one of the core themes of Catholic Social Teaching.

• The Subdivision is named under St. Joseph which is within the jurisdiction of Barangay Cut-cut I.

• According to oral history (subject to official documentation), the subdivision came from a private development which was available through government housing financing program (i.e. Pag-ibig), which represented and continued to represent diverse community of workers, making it an ideal setting to honor laborers through various activities.
