IN PHOTOS: The much-anticipated SULO Educ Week 2026 officially came to a meaningful close on April 18 through a vibrant closing and awarding ceremony that brought together students, faculty, and guests in a celebration of talent, achievement, and collective spirit. The program reflected not only the success of the week-long festivities but also the dedication and passion of every future educator who took part.
The ceremony opened with preliminaries, followed by an opening prayer and warm opening remarks that set a reflective yet celebratory tone. One of the highlights of the program was the Phoenix Accolades, which recognized the Dean’s Listers for the first semester of this academic year—honoring students who have demonstrated academic excellence and commitment to their studies.
The Vice President of the Teachers’ Guild (TG), Thea Escrupulo, presented key charter updates, including a new hierarchical structure, the alignment of all co-curricular organizations with the revised TG charter, and the introduction of a special decision-making committee composed of year-level representatives, TG officers, and co-curricular leaders. While in the State of the Student Council Address, TG President Justine Dave Paquit presented the council’s key initiatives for the school year, including the Bangon Barangay 17 Donation Drive for the victims of the fire incident in the said barangay, and the formation of the Union of Student Educators (USE) which bridged Education sectors from various institutions within the city. He likewise underscored the importance of unity, commitment, and a shared drive to uplift and serve the student body.
The audience was then treated to dynamic performances and presentations, including the much-awaited Talent Show Contest, where students from the 1st to 4th year levels showcased their creativity and stage presence. After impressive performances, the 4th year students were hailed as 3rd runner-up, followed by the 1st years as 2nd runner-up, and the 3rd years as 1st runner-up. Emerging as this year’s champion were the 2nd year students, whose performance stood out among the rest.
Adding excitement to the event was the announcement of winners from previously held competitions. The Cheer Chant Competition, conducted during the opening of Educ Week, crowned Liyab as its champion, recognized for their energy, coordination, and powerful delivery. Meanwhile, in the Pinoy Race, Alab emerged victorious, showcasing teamwork and determination throughout the activity.
The ceremony also featured engaging intermission numbers, games, and a special branding presentation, making the event both entertaining and meaningful. As the program progressed to the awarding segment, students and teams were recognized for their efforts and achievements across various events held throughout the week.
Capping off the celebration, Liyab was declared the Overall Champion, winning by a close 5-point margin, exemplifying their consistency and excellence across multiple competitions.
The event concluded with heartfelt closing remarks by Project Head, Joemalyne Omictin, that emphasized gratitude, unity, and the essence of Educ Week—not just as a series of activities, but as a celebration of growth, collaboration, and the shared journey of becoming educators. A photo opportunity followed, capturing smiles, pride, and memories that will surely last beyond the week.
Educ Week 2026 was not only a celebration but a reminder of the passion and potential that each future educator carries. Through every challenge and victory, the week embodied how legends are forged in flames—shaped by resilience, strengthened by unity, and driven by purpose.
