Butuan Intervarsity

On August 23, the Butuan Intervarsity Organizing Committee held its first feeding program in partnership with its chosen advocacy, Gawad Kalinga Youth – Father Saturnino Urios University Chapter.

Together with the University's Community Extension Services (CES), FSUU Gawad Kalinga conducts feedings every Saturday at 10:00 AM for street children and anyone in need.

The Butuan Intervarsity strives to make debating accessible and purposeful. We thank everyone who participated in this year’s installment and even traveled in Butuan to be with us.

May we live out the true spirit of debate: to continue sharing and fighting for the marginalized, even beyond the seven-minute speeches.

The funds collected have been and will continuously support the weekly feeding program. This is a great help to Gawad Kalinga and the street children.

✨ 𝗟𝗡𝗞 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽 ✨

The Butuan Intervarsity Organizing Committee in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Brgy. Libertad hosted the first-ever LNK Libertad Debate Competition. The city-wide tournament attracted competitors from across the city from both high school and college levels.

Preliminary rounds were held in Libertad National High School while the grand finals were held in the Centro Covered Court in attempt to bring the art of debate closer to the community.

The BIV team extends its heartfelt gratitude to the SK of Brgy. Libertad for the opportunity and partnership in making this event possible. 🙌

𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗲: Bea, an active figure in her local community, who has dreamed of being a lawyer since childhood has received a scholarship for law school abroad. At the same time, she is offered the opportunity to run for SK Chairman with the backing of her city's incumbent administration.

Bea, an active figure in her locality, has been balancing community work and providing for her family as a working student during her college life.

Rejecting the offer would mean losing her last chance to run for SK, as she will already be beyond the age limit by the next election cycle.

In partnership with the Butuan Intervarsity, youths, it’s time to show your crucial skills in critical thinking and logical reasoning, communication, public speaking, and research and analysis, as the council of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Libertad serves you the first-ever 𝗗𝗘𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 for Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 in Barangay Libertad.
