The Junior Philippine Economics Society (JPES) Visayas successfully conducted the JPES Regional Convention 2026 last June 6, 2026 via Zoom, bringing together aspiring economists, student leaders, and changemakers from across the region.
The morning session featured insightful discussions on โMacroeconomic Challenges in a Volatile Worldโ and โGovernment, Institutions, and Policy Accountability,โ highlighting the importance of sound economic strategies, effective governance, and accountable institutions in addressing todayโs global and national challenges.
In the afternoon, the convention continued with a Leadership Training Seminar centered on leadership and the role of young economists in nation-building. The session encouraged participants to become proactive leaders, critical thinkers, and advocates of positive change within their communities and future professions.
Through meaningful conversations, collaboration, and learning, the event served as a platform for empowering the next generation of economists and leaders in the Visayas.
