Hi Runners! We are reminding the TOP 3 women in each category to send us a message for the claiming of monetary compensation stated in the 5th bullet in our commitment in addressing our operational shortcomings.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for all the inconveniences, and we will address the issues the best we can. Please do communicate with us as soon as you can. Daghang salamat!
PRESS RELEASE- ORGANIZERS’ OFFICIAL APOLOGY ON OPERATIONAL SHORTCOMINGS
We, the organizing team, extend our sincere and heartfelt apologies for the series of operational shortcomings that affected your experience during the event. We recognize that many aspects of the run did not meet expectations, and we take full responsibility for the following:
1. Unannounced Route Changes
We acknowledge the confusion caused by last-minute route modifications. These were implemented due to unforeseen logistical constraints, but we failed to communicate the changes in a timely and clear manner, causing stress and confusion among runners.
2. Inadequate Drinking Water Supply
The lack of sufficient drinking water at several hydration stations is a serious concern, especially under warm conditions and long distances. This posed a risk to participant safety, and we deeply regret the oversight.
3. Delayed release of Finisher Medals
We apologize for the delayed release of finisher medals, specifically in the 7KM category which affected multiple runners. We understand that medals are a symbol of achievement and a tangible reward for your effort.
🔹 Our Commitment: All undelivered medals will be shipped to affected runners as soon as possible , our team holds the list of those who have not yet received their medals and will reach out in the coming week.
5. Miscommunication on Category Prizes
We received concerns regarding unclear communication about category prizes, particularly around the expectation of separate awards for women. We understand that many participants expected gender-specific podium recognition, and we deeply regret the confusion and disappointment this caused. .
🔹 Our Commitment: We request that the top 3 winners of the women category coordinate with us so we can provide monetary compensation. Going forward, we will ensure gender-specific recognition where applicable and aligned with our values of inclusivity and fairness.
Moving Forward
We deeply regret the impact of these issues on what should have been a safe, enjoyable, and rewarding event. The Sumad Fun Run is built on community spirit, and we are taking immediate action to rebuild your trust.
What We’re Doing Next:
Conducting a full internal review of planning and logistics
Launching a participant feedback survey to hear your insights
Releasing a public improvement plan before our next event
Ensuring all pending commitments (medals, clarifications, etc.) are fulfilled promptly
