The Girl Scouts of the Philippines – Bataan Council proudly joined the 84th Commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan held last April 9 at the Mt. Samat Shrine in Pilar, Bataan.

Graced by His Excellency, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the event paid tribute to the valor, sacrifice, and unwavering patriotism of our Filipino heroes who fought during one of the most significant chapters in our nation’s history. His presence underscored the importance of remembering and honoring the courage of those who stood for our freedom.

His Excellency was warmly welcomed by two of our Girl Scout leaders, Cadet GS Allysa Sangalang and Cadet GS Micaella Jaraba, representing the youth’s commitment to preserving the legacy of heroism and service.

As we take part in this meaningful commemoration, we continue to uphold the values of bravery, patriotism, and resilience—honoring the courage of our heroes, 84 years ago and now.

The Day 3 of the 3rd Council Gathering of Girl Leaders was a beautiful mix of reflection, celebration, and emotions. 💚

The day opened with Scout’s Own and Sunday Mass, setting a solemn and grateful tone as the girls honored the past and grounded themselves in faith. Then, the preparation for the Culminating Activity filled the morning with focus and teamwork, leading to powerful presentations where creativity and leadership shone through different art forms.

The Closing Ceremony wrapped everything together with reflections, impressions, awarding of certificates, and a challenge that encouraged every girl to bring what they learned back to their communities. From the retiring of colors to the Friendship Circle, the Day 3 reminded everyone that endings can be just as meaningful as beginnings.

Altogether, the final day celebrated legacy, leadership, and the unbreakable bond of the new generation of Girl Leaders moving forward together. 💚✨

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯: 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆

The 3rd Council Gathering of Girl Leaders officially came to a close with a heartfelt Closing Ceremony hosted by Cadet GS Kathrine Fernandez and Cadet GS Karyll Carla P. De Leon. The program was filled with sincere reflections and lasting impressions that captured the journey of the past three days.
An inspiring Impression was shared by Junior GS Trizia Pauline T. Ortega from the University of Nueva Caceres, followed by meaningful reflections from Senior GS Sophie Yeioua Valega of Lamao National High School and Cadet GS Elyza Julienne Escriba of Bataan National High School – Senior High School. Their words echoed growth, gratitude, and hope to our inspiring Girl Leaders.

Afterwards, the certificates were awarded to recognize the participation and commitment of our Girls, leading to a powerful Challenge to Bring Home delivered by Cadet GS Rihanna Sophia Sotto. Then comes the retiring of colors. Next, the voices of our Girl Leaders united in community singing of “We Are the Stars” by Anessa Tiburon. The Friendship Circle sealed the gathering with unity, before one last Photo Opportunity captured memories to last a lifetime.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯: 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆

The Culminating Activity was the heart of the 3rd Council Gathering of Girl Leaders, where all lessons, efforts, and experiences finally came together. Introduced on Day 1, practiced with dedication on Day 2, and presented with confidence on Day 3, this activity was fully planned and led by the girl leaders themselves. Through five different forms of art, the girls expressed leadership, teamwork, and creativity, turning ideas into meaningful performances that reflected their shared journey.

More than a presentation, this moment celebrated growth and empowerment. Every performance showed courage, collaboration, and the power of girls leading girls. Truly, art became their voice, where they tell stories of who they are, what they learned, and who they are becoming. The Culminating Activity did not just close the gathering; it captured the true spirit of the 3rd CGGL where girls created, inspired others, and led each other with purpose. 🎨✨

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯: 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁’𝘀 𝗢𝘄𝗻

As the final day began, silence wrapped the camp in respect and reflection.

Through Scout’s Own, the girl leaders paused to honor the footsteps of the Scouts who came before them. In this solemn moment, prayers were offered, hearts were bowed, and gratitude filled the air. It was a gentle reminder that leadership is rooted in service, faith, and the legacy we continue to carry forward.
