Kia ora and thank you everyone for your overwhelming support of the Taniwhas Den 2027. Our early bird tickets have sold out. The 2nd release tickets at $350 are now available follow the ticketing link.

Early bird tickets to the Taniwhas Den 2027 will go live Saturday the 9th of May. There will be 100 early birds available for the full 2 days 2 nights long weekend festival at $280. Tickets are only available via our Face Book page. Keep following us, because we have a lot to announce about the 2027 gathering of the Taniwhas.

which we are now exhibiting with, as a live event for 2027.
YES THE DEN IS BACK 6-8TH FEB 2027. Follow the Gallery & the Taniwhas Den for ticket release 9th April, & set those dates aside.

The last 13 years of Taniwha Dens have been a magical experience for all of us. This year the vibe created irresistible smiles everywhere and our production crew nailed it, as did our DJs & VJs. Our Awa blessed us with clean water to swim, seeing our conservation efforts bare fruit after all this time. How ever as kaitiaki of the den we have decided that 2025 was our final year and there will be no more Taniwha dens in the future. This will disappoint many of you but its time for a change. We will Taking a break allowing the metamorphosis process to begin and new energy to evolve. The Hinakura Art Gallery will be our new kaitiaki bringing more magic, art, music and creative events to you in the years to come. A massive thank you and Aroha to all who have supported us to party every year. There will further post as we remember the past Dens and recognise the wonderfull NZ DJs & VJs, the production crews, the river dog crew and many more that made it all happen. Kia Ora Koutou,

It’s been 3 weeks since we adorned Hinakura. Now we have recovered it is time to acknowledge and to give a big mihi to everyone that came and supported Taniwha’s Den 2025.

We have many people behind the scenes that work hard to make things happen from the sound, lighting, stage setup, The Den Og’s, VIBE Zone, security and volunteers - We appreciate all your mahi Whānau, without your time, care and your eye for detail the Den wouldn’t have been what it is. You fulla’s made it happen for 2025. We appreciate you all!!

To all our DJ’s & VJ’s that came and played this year. Nga Mihi Nui. Wow so amazing, we had an array of talent in 2025 that came from around Aotearoa. The beautiful kaupapa of Taniwha’s is that we only use DJ’s & VJ’s from Aotearoa and we don’t need to source overseas, we acknowledge our talent and creatives that showcase every year. 2025 was something special 2026 is going to push us to another level.

To all our Den patrons that came and rocked that dance floor and created the best memories in 2025. Nga Mihi Nui, Hinakura turned it on for us and you never leave the same as you walked in. We all make some amazing memories and maybe learn a thing or 2 as well.

Hinakura’s Wairua(energy) gives us an opportunity to feel safe, to let go on the dance floor and feel connected to the Whenua and the Awa which blessed us for 2025.

2026 is in motion so please all those little rumours you’ve been hearing well they simply aren’t true!!! We will back bigger and better for 2026🐉

The Taniwhas Den 2025 owes a special thanks to Phil & Kazz, their building company, The Resilient Kiwi sponsored the Hinakura & the Den stage construction. Phil & Kazz are a great team, they worked night & day building the stages, which was a huge improvement from the previous years. Phil has been coming to the Taniwhas Den for 6 years and wanted to give something back. Thank you, the stages were awesome, Arohanui on behalf of Hinakura the Taniwha, and everyone who came to the Taniwhas Den 2025
