🎉 50 Days to Go!

Just 50 days until the Special Olympics New Zealand 2025 National Summer Games light up Christchurch! 🙌

Across Aotearoa, athletes, clubs, volunteers, and families are getting ready — training, supporting each other, and celebrating as the Flame of Hope travels south. 💛

🏃‍♀️ Athlete Natasha says staying active helps her feel ready:

“I go to the gym, listen to music, and go for a walk.”

🏊 Glenys loves the spirit that brings everyone together:

“We’re one big family at the pools — always helping and supporting each other.”

🎳 Bowler Matt is looking forward to meeting new people and giving his all:

“I’m looking forward to meeting new people from different clubs — I’ll try my best in my events and have fun!”

💫 Leanne adds:

“My daughter is excited to be at her first National Summer Games competing in ten pin bowling. She loved holding the torch in the Torch Parade!”

🤝 And Ben sums it up perfectly:

“Special Olympics is a great way to make new friends.”

💛 Together, we’re celebrating something special — the courage, connection, and community that make the Games special.

It’s always valuable to pause and reflect on the moments that shape us and this month at Mayer & Toye Ltd, we’ve had the privilege of celebrating one of the most significant:
Murray Mayer’s 80th birthday.

We’ve taken this opportunity to honour a truly remarkable individual a leader whose influence has shaped the very fabric of our company. From his early days at Mayer & Kean to leading Mayer & Toye from 1967 onward, Murray has exemplified integrity, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

His ability to embrace change while upholding the highest standards has left a lasting legacy on our team, our values, and our work. Murray’s story is not only one of business success, but of mentorship, generosity, and vision.

We are deeply grateful for the continued presence and guidance he shares with us as we carry this legacy forward.

Thank you, Murray, for everything you’ve given and continue to give to all of us.

Today we wear yellow with pride, honouring the strength, courage, and resilience of those affected by cancer.
The daffodil is more than a flower, it’s a symbol of hope, renewal, and the collective spirit of communities coming together to support life-saving research and compassionate care.
Whether you're donating, volunteering, or simply wearing a daffodil, every gesture helps bring light to someone’s journey.

Kia kaha to all those fighting, surviving, and supporting.
Let’s keep hope blooming. 💛
