Wow!! 10 years!!

It was just over a week ago that the 10th Anniversary Yamaha NZ Festival of Freeride event came to a close. Despite Mother Nature throwing everything at us we celebrated in style.

The support and commitment to the event was once again outstanding - 60+ riders from around NZ, Auzzie and French Polynesia all there to stunt in the wild west coast surf. Freeride is certainly alive and well here in NZ.

On a personal note, it has been an absolute pleasure to put the event on for the last 10 years. Everyone that has entered over the years, whether it be for one event or all, has made it all worthwhile with their attitude and enjoyment.

The success of the event is always down to the commitment our fantastic sponsors. Yamaha Marine New Zealand for being title sponsors once again - just awesome to have had your support for this event once again. Having the Yamaha brand associated with the FOF for 10 years now is awesome!!

Our associate sponsors once again gave a huge amount to support to the event. Otago Personal Watercraft and Rynex Roofing - Thank you so much!! Your support goes so far in making things happen for the event and we can't tank you enough!!

Once again the team at Rogers Boatshop delivered what is a cornerstone of the FOF experience. Nigel and Reece once again put on a delicious spread to keep everyone going at the event. Cheers RBS!!

The amazingly generous support from our sponsors with prizes, merchandise, and key components for the event was awesome. A huge thank you to Leif and Zac from Marine Safety Services for providing our marshalling services all weekend long. They’re simply the best on the water and an absolute pleasure to have involved with the event. Thanks also to the team at Ambulance EMT for being there as well and ensuring we had the best paramedical event cover possible!!

To everyone that participated in the 10th anniversary Yamaha NZ Festival of Freeride - thank you so very much for committing, attending and supporting the only free ride event in New Zealand and making it what it is.

Thank you to those individuals that have contributed to the event this year. From those that helped out with the lead up, sponsor liaison, collection and supply of gear, etc - you know who you are. Thank you to everyone that chipped in with setting up, running, and packing down the event. Awesome effort and was it always is very much appreciated.

Soon we will release the epic highlights reel of this years Yamaha NZ Festival of Freeride - teaser dropping tomorrow so look out!!. In the mean time check out the Class of 2023!!

Bloody fantastic to have the support of the team at My Ride Hastings and My Ride Taradale. They have everything to keep you going especially when the surfs not playing ball so you're out smashing trails or just going for a leisurely ride. There's plenty of products that cross over to freeride too - from Helmets, Gloves, and accessories to name a few. Make My Ride Hastings or My Ride Taradale your first choice!!
