Tonight at 6.30pm the lament will be played at the Turakina Cemetery overlooking the village.
This is a time to remember those that have passed away in the last year.
Meet at the cemetery gates and walk up as a group for the short service.
Tea and coffee will be available on the Domain afterwards.

New to the Turakina Highland Games? Here is a summary of what's planned for Friday night and all day Saturday.

Not only do we have our competitions for Solo Piping, Solo Drumming, Bands, Highland Dancing (HDAMRW and P&D) - we have 16 Clans and 17 stall holders joining us this year.

Field events for 12 and under are free to enter and start at 10am - so get there early to register! You will be able to learn to toss a caber and do the farmers walk 😀

Adult's field events start after lunch, with a tug 'o war also on the schedule - get your friends together to enter a team (5 in a team with prize money for the team who wins!!)

Friday 30th January at 6:30pm there will be a lament held at Turakina Cemetery overlooking the village.

You are invited to join us in remembering those we have lost over the last 12 months along with paying our respects to the original settlers and founders of the Turakina District and the Turakina Highland Games.

For those of you who would like to join but find the hill difficult, the gates will be open prior so you can be dropped off.

Following the lament at the cemetery there will are light refreshments on the domain.
