From the many months of preparation to the last minute details and waiting for the weather to settle to erect the marquee, we were blessed with the perfect weekend. We can only hope that you not only enjoyed the sunshine but also caught up with faces from the past and took the chance to reminisce, like it was just yesterday. The laughter that erupted on Friday night was a good indication of how the weekend would progress. It gave us the opportunity to have all our Life Members present, to meet the current Tokanui team and learn of the Team of the Century. There was plenty of rugby and the celebrations went on until the early hours. Good on the Wyndham teams for hanging around until the last song played. Those 22 people wearing a Centennial jersey were lighter in pocket on Sunday, some so much more than others, were smiling with pride. Many hands made clean up easy, as most of the cars in left in the paddock slowly disappeared, although a few hung around for a decent debrief. Thank you to all that attended and made it such a successful occasion. Centennial celebrations may be done and dusted, but we have an entire season of Tokanui Rugby ahead and its Saturday again tomorrow! So get back down to the pavilion to watch both teams take on Waikaka/Riversdale. UP THE NUI!
