We’re sorry to share that the Summerhill Skedaddle planned for Sunday 10th May has been postponed due to recent storms and fallen trees making the full trail impossible to run and most importantly, unsafe and unenjoyable.

While it’s not the news we were hoping to give, the safety of our participants always comes first. We’ll be in touch with everyone who registered via email to ensure this message gets to everyone.

The good news is we’re already looking ahead and hope to bring the Skedaddle back in 2026. We want to acknowledge those who have given a Koha to the Summerhill Trust. Thanks so much for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you later in the year.

Teams! Fantastic to see the team entires coming in. A great way to spend a day with a mate, or in some cases, husband and wife!

How it works if you enter the Skedaddle as a team.

💥 You register as a ‘Team’ of 2

👉 One person is on the course at one time

💥 Change over happens at the end of the 5km loop before you enter into the woolshed

👉First runner starts at 9am and you and your partner aim to get as many laps in as possible before 3pm.

Is there a prize for the winning team? Of course! The famous Skedaddle Paddle!

Summerhill Skedaddle!

It’s time to get organised for our free local event, and as always many hands make light work.

We are super keen to get some help with any of the following. If you can donate an hour or more of your time, the committee and the community certainly appreciate it. We do this as volunteers and it’s cool that 100% of all donations received from this event go directly back to Summerhill Trust.

Can you spare an hour on Friday 8th May late afternoon to
- set up the parking paddock with John
- set up the woolshed with Kelly
- put a few key items in place with Wez and Arna on the course

Saturday 9th May
- course set up from 1pm onwards. We split the course up into 4 sections. Have 2 to 3 individuals per section to mark and tape off areas.

Sunday 10th May
Sparrows fart o’clock
- pre course check - (thanks Elle!)
- field flag marking - John and Craig
- 3pm - pack up. This takes 1 hour. It’s super efficient and fun.

Throughout the day on Sunday, we need car parking peeps, you point and direct. Definitely fun to do with a mate. We put people on here for an hours slot. Optional if you want to do more, just sing out if you do. This is also for anyone who is a random skedaddler and would like to give back by helping out after you have done a few laps. Or… maybe your nutty partner is doing the 6 hour solo and you can donate an hour of your time.

Please comment below if you can help in ANY way ❤️ or drop us a DM!

Go the entries! So grest to see many returning, newbies and our locals who love to to loop! Remember this is a free community event. No entry fee 🙌

For those newbies who have been in the dark ages and have never heard of the Skedaddle … heres a bit more info for you.

The ‘RANDOM SKEDADDLER’ is an individual who wants to complete one of the 5km loops. But wait, there’s more....

➡️ The ‘Random Skedaddler’ may also choose to do 2 laps, simply because the course is cool or they may bump into a mate there and do another lap… OR they may think what the heck, I’ll do 3 laps.

➡️ The ‘Random Skedaddler’ might also have a goal of doing 4 laps and sneaking in a cheeky half marathon distance. Like 'ya bloody hoooo' (go you good things).

That’s the beauty of being a RANDOM. You can run when you like - with many breaks, or even start later on in the morning!

Many families enter as a Random Skedaddler and stay together.

Husbands and wifes run together, then the husband has a beer and the wife continues (it is Mothers day after all).

Many mates enter as ‘Randoms’ simply to stay together and to sling the banter while deciding if they will do 1, 2,3 or more laps together.

Some Randoms do 3 laps, grab their medal and beer and intend to leave, but then get ‘bullied’ into doing ‘just one more lap’ 🤣.

So there you have it. Being a random is exactly that.
How do you enter? Click on the sign up button on our page or scroll to the last post and find the registration link.

For those of you who have been concerned about our course with the recent slips etc, the skedaddle course is 95% the same. How lucky are we!
