All this in one great concert!
An established country crooner with an unmistakable bluesy, rock n’ roll edge, Tina Turley is a vocal powerhouse who can envelop you and take you on a musical journey with her performance.
Turley craves music right down to the depths of her heart and soul. “It’s like an addiction,” she says. “You can’t shed it, you can’t break it, you can’t stop it.
I couldn’t live without it. Wouldn’t want to. It feeds my entire being.”
Coming from a very musical family, Tina cut her teeth on the stage.
When Tina was in her early teens she was playing drums and singing with her father and his group at local pubs.
Tina has had more than a taste of everything it takes and that came with living on and off in Nashville back in the late 90s networking, songwriting and attaining publishing on a number of songs.
Tina’s songs have received number 1 status on various stations throughout Europe and the UK including Germany, Scotland and Ireland to name a few.
Tina was the first independent Canadian artist to have three music videos on medium rotation on Canadian Country Music Television (CMT).
Tina is so grateful to have had the opportunity to perform shows and festivals throughout Canada and the US and has gained credible recognition as a well established and extremely talented performer.
Tina Turley was discovered by a local NZ promoter and he was so enthralled by Tina that he invited her to NZ in 2023 to play a few summer festivals here.
Tina jumped at the chance. "It was always a dream of mine since I was young to come to New Zealand... and to have the opportunity to be here and play my music, it is more than a dream come true" she says.
Tina has impressed audiences everywhere with her outstanding vocals and instrumental versatility on both guitar and drums. She can sing you the saddest country song that you have ever heard and then she can go belt out the most southern rock country song that you ever want to hear. That range and dynamic distinctiveness can also be found in Tina’s performances. Tina gives everything she’s got when she’s on stage. She gravitates to the unmistakable unique style that country artists, classic to modern, have perfected over the years.
Evidence this gal has what it takes stands strong with the many standing ovations she receives from audiences wherever she goes.
Tina Turley is back in New Zealand for a short while before returning to Canada this May to embark on a busy tour.
Tickets available now at Tauranga Citizens Club and door sales from 4:30 pm on Sunday 14th April (full bar and restaurant meals avaliable) Be quick!
Guest artist - Karen Clarke
Indie blues woman Karen Clarke has been lurking backstage in the provincial scene for the last 25 years refining her feels. With a brimming live performance schedule and two albums under her belt she's well and truly earned her piece of the heartland acoustic music stage.
Karen is firmly rooted where RnB and Alt-Country collide and you'll detect a dalliance with folk and jazz too. Her power-packed performance is strong. Grounded. Built. Emotionally direct with interpretations and song feels that can move your waters. Her strong sometimes silky sometimes sultry smoky vocal over driving rhythm guitar work commands regard.
