In 2027, the Third Culture Film Festival invites filmmakers and audiences to explore REVIVAL in all its forms — personal, cultural, creative, spiritual, communal and cinematic.

In 2016, Third Culture began in Hong Kong with a simple idea: to create space for stories, cultures and perspectives that don’t always fit neatly into one place.

A decade later, that journey has taken us from Hong Kong to Aotearoa — and back again.

More than a showcase.. More than a return…

We were honoured to welcome Peter Lund, New Zealand Consul-General in Hong Kong, to the Third Culture Film Festival Hong Kong Showcase.

His words capture so much of what Third Culture is about:

“The Third Culture Film Festival is a unique festival where movies shown about cultures converge, and where global roots and local realities merge.”

We’re returning to Hong Kong. 🇭🇰🎬

Almost a decade after the idea for the Third Culture Film Festival first began in Hong Kong, TCFF is coming back to where the story started.

From 28–30 August 2026, the Third Culture Film Festival HK Showcase will take place at Soho House Hong Kong — a private, invitation-only weekend of film, storytelling and cultural connection.

After relaunching and growing in New Zealand, this return marks an important next chapter for TCFF: reconnecting Hong Kong and New Zealand through film, creativity and shared experience.
