To our loyal Rotorua Ekiden participants and supporters,

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision not to bring the Rotorua Ekiden back in 2022.

As you will be aware, the event has been on hold after the challenges that Covid-19 brought to the events industry. We are slowly recovering, but it is a process and one that we're navigating with caution.

At this point, we cannot say when the Rotorua Ekiden will return, but we are definitely not writing it off yet. Just give us a bit more time...

Sun to Surf Run & Walk Events

To our loyal Rotorua Ekiden participants,

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing challenges of Covid-19 and the profound impacts on the events industry, our small events business is not in a position to bring this much loved event back in 2021.

We love Rotorua, and we love this event and it is a heartbreaking conclusion to come to, but we simply cannot take the risk this year.

As you know, the events industry has seen many similar statements over the past 15 months. All we ask is that you continue to support the events that are able to go ahead by purchasing entries/tickets ahead of time. This gives organisers the confidence to present the event in the way they dream it to be.

Thank you for your patience in waiting for this decision to be made, and thank you for your ongoing support of Mel and I, and Victory Events.

To all our Epic Ekiden Runners & Walkers,

2020 has thrown us many curveballs and one heavy one at that. The ongoing challenges that COVID-19 have brought to the events industry and our modest family owned events business has been profound.

The Rotorua Ekiden Relay is an event we are passionate about and we are committed to finding a way to bring it back.

Thank you to those who had given us feedback on our proposed new event date in the summer of 2021. Unfortunately, we are not able to commit to delivering the Rotorua Ekiden Relay at that time but we will keep you posted on future updates.

Thank you also to everyone who has supported us over the years, we will be back!

Kia Ora, Rotorua Ekiden runners, walkers and supporters!

We wanted to share a message with you regarding the ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19.

Our team has made the call to delay the opening of entries for the 2020 Rotorua Ekiden Relay, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday 17th October 2020.

We will provide further updates on the status of this year's event when are in a position to do so.
