3X3 MATARIKI BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Get your whānau and iwi teams ready – our 3X3 Matariki Basketball Tournament is back for its fourth year on Friday 20 & Saturday 21 June 2025.
🟢 Team Registrations Open: Tuesday 6 May 2025, 9:00am
🔴 Team Registrations Close: Friday 30 May 2025, 11:59pm (or when divisions are full)​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Registrations are being coordinated through your iwi rep - Individuals cannot register teams directly. If you want to enter a team, please contact your iwi representative.

National Māori Basketball Tournament 2025

More than 400 basketball teams from 28 iwi are set to compete on the courts at the Rotorua Energy Events Centre. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today by Basketball NZ and Poitūkohu Māori Aotearoa to expand the opportunities for Māori players to compete at the highest levels of basketball.
