The sun sets on another year's barely organised mayhem for NZSSC2025.

Some details for Saturday 26th April:

Parking: Paddock on the left as you come up the road. Will be signposted. Please don't gum up the top parking area as will need it for volunteers/marshals/etc.

8:30 Registration open. Cash on day, bring ID if you or your mum look under 25.
Coffee cart and BBQ grill (Cash) open.
9.00 Marshal briefing
9.45 Race briefing
10.00 Race Start!

1pm ish Hosting comp. Who will challenge the Chatham Island team for the NZSSC cloak of destiny?
4pmish Winners tats in Te Awamutu
5.30 Grab your feed and slake your thirst at The Commercial Hotel - Peach and Porker Bar/ The Long Acre Grill in Te Awamutu. Tickets with your registration pack for food/drink.
6.45 Prizegiving followed by a raucous and b***y live band

Some time later: Collapse in a happy heap.

Don't drink and drive, consume responsibly, eat food, poo in a toilet. Winners don't do Lycra (unless there's a cape involved) If you do need a safe way to get down the hill hit us up.

Riding Pirongia MTB this morning. Some gossip has been doing the rounds as to what the NZSSC2025 course will take in.

Talking to our trail Sorcerer Steve Thomas he said he had been thinking about starting the race at the pub but thought that the climb from the village was Easy As.

He reckons that it takes Skills to ride this course and has put in some Trick and Treats for you good people who'd rather be Home and Away. It all sounds like Hard Labour to an Apprentice like me who's used to some back to front action.

Lockdown for some japes and the offer of a beer since we got the shortcut to a licence. Still gotta climb for the tattoo though.

Well done fella for getting your entry in nice and early and for being a keen, lean singlespeeding machine.

Draw was totally above board. I printed out all available entrants and removed my own number. I then superglued the numbers to the backs of 46 puriri moths which I released into a kryptonite crystal box with a drunken tuatara in it. Old albert took a few strikes to get his third eye in but after 3 days he caught Dan's moth and the deed was done.
