Kāpiti Food Fair

Kāpiti Food Fair FOOD FESTIVAL - Exciting & indulgent day filled with good food, good music, and great company for all food enthusiasts - Sat 5 Dec 2026 Strategic Outcomes:

1.
(2)

Fill your life with GOOD friends, GOOD times & GOOD food . A showcase of New Zealand food & beverage including the united nations of ready to eat foods and manufactured and F&B related products. A great event to shop for gifts or to stock-up your pantry. The Kāpiti Food Fair started with humble beginnings in 2008 with mainly home based producers. It has since grown to include commer

cial and home based producers and a huge variety of ready to foods. Celebrity Guests over the years have included Martin Bosley, Simon Holst, Nadia Lim, Karena & Casey Bird, Annabelle White, Jason van Dorsten of Cafe Hanoi in Auckland, Jax Hamilton, Brett McGregor and Nicky Sinden. Vendors from all around NZ are attracted to the Fair and we have become anchored in to the annual F&B event calendar. The Fair always runs in the first Sat in December and the day before the popular Thorndon School fundraising fair on the first Sun in December. Many of our vendors operate at both events so commercially it works for them. The Fair includes a professionally managed stage and a licenced Tuatara Bar selling beer, wine and cocktails for visitors to wash down their tasty treats. The Fair runs rain or shine and ATM cash is available for visitors. Vendors are encouraged to have their own mobile Eftpos. Kāpiti Rotary, No 49 Squadron Air Cadets, Paraparaumu College Parents Association and Work Ready Kāpiti are supporters of the Fair. The Fair has a social conscience and donates to each organisation for their volunteer services. Visitor attendance is 10,000+ | Crowd friendly dogs on lead welcome | Sustainable Foods Kitchen Stage | ZEAL Zone | FREE kids zone, face painting, parading performers, buskers, Christmas magic and much more. To be added to the vendor campaign data please contact Helene Judge, 027 244 9585 or email [email protected]

Today we share sad news with the passing on of Allen Douglas, the Commander of No. 49 District of Kapiti Squadron, Air Training Corps. We are deeply sad as he was hardworking local man who was always upbeat and was a fabulous leader of the No 49 Squadron who volunteer tirelessly in our waste minimisation crew at the Kāpiti Food Fair. They always do an outstanding job as they were well briefed and guided by Allen. Rest in peace Allen, you have made a genuine difference in the lives of rangatahi, and we send love to your son Hamish in this very sad time. 💜

🕊️ It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Squadron Leader Allen Douglas, a dedicated and highly respected member of the New Zealand Cadet Forces whose service and commitment spanned decades.

Before commissioning as an officer in 1996, Allen began his journey as a cadet with TS TUTIRA in Levin, rising to the rank of Master Cadet. He went on to serve across both the Sea Cadet Corps and Air Training Corps, holding a range of leadership and instructional appointments that positively impacted countless cadets and officers over the years.

Allen served with TS TUTIRA, No.49 (District of Kapiti) Squadron, City of Porirua Cadet Unit, and TS TAUPO, including appointments as Unit Commander, Executive Officer, Training Officer, Adjutant, and most recently Temporary Unit Commander of No. 49 SQN. His dedication to youth development and cadet training was unwavering, and his contribution to the NZCF community was enduring. Throughout his service, Allen supported numerous national activities including Sea Cadet Regattas, Cadet Coxswain Courses, Maritime Safety Officers Courses, and the ATC Skills Competition. In recognition of his long and valuable service, he was awarded the Cadet Forces Medal in 2006, followed by the 1st and 2nd Clasps to the Cadet Forces medal in 2014 and 2022 respectively.

Squadron Leader Douglas will be remembered for his leadership, mentorship, professionalism, and the lasting impact he had on generations of cadets and officers alike.

Our thoughts are with Allen’s family, friends, and all those across the NZCF community who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
Fair winds and following seas.

Allen’s funeral will be on Wednesday 13 May at 1100hrs at the Salvation Army Hall on Durham Street in Levin.

Kāpiti Food Fair had an excellent time at TASTE 26 at the Beehive organised by Tim Costley MP to showcase amazing food & beverage producers from Kāpiti and Horowhenua. The PM also spoke and enjoyed mingling with producers and invited guests. We enjoyed catching up with the 38 participating businesses as they are also vendors at the Fair. They are looking forward to delighting visitors once again on Sat 5 Dec 2026 - note your calendar!

This is the point where we get to say: that’s a WRAP, folks!⁣

Kāpiti Food Fair 2025 is officially done and dusted for another extraordinary year after welcoming 10,000+ visitors on site! 🎉⁣

The aroha and happiness on display were the ultimate reward for a year of planning and the perfect finishing touch to this iconic annual Kāpiti Coast event! ☀️⁣

Today, our social media goes quiet as we take a step back to enjoy the holidays and summer with our own whānau and friends. Time to reset, rest, and lock in some downtime so we can come back recharged and ready to plan next year's Kāpiti Food Fair!⁣

Kia kaha everyone, and Meri Kirihimete! Stay safe, soak up the beautiful summer sun, go swimming, eat plenty of kai, and drink bubbles with your fam and mates. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2026.⁣

Love from Helene & Jeanine, Co-owners of the Kāpiti Food Fair xx 🥂⁣
