The Catlins turned it on and so did you!

A huge thanks to everyone who came along and took on the 2026 Papatowai Challenge! It was awesome to see so many people getting active and making the most of this special part of our region.

The weather in the Catlins is looking perfect for the Papatowai Challenge this Saturday 21 February.

Entries close at midnight tonight — don’t miss out!

Take on the 15.5km Papatowai Challenge run/walk or the 5km Papatowai Canter run/walk and and take in rugged coastline, native bush and some of the best scenery in NZ.

Sign up for the Papatowai Challenge 2026 and you could win a trip for two to the Coombabah Trail Run! That’s flights, accommodation, and transfers to the Gold Coast - all included. The winner will be announced at prizegiving, and you just need to be there to claim it.

Entries open Monday 5 January for the 2026 Papatowai Challenge – Edition #29 🎉

This year we’ve teamed up with a very special event on the Gold Coast, Australia — one that shares our values, with a strong focus on community and the environment.

What does that mean?
🇦🇺 Two lucky Aussies will be travelling over to take part in the 2026 Papatowai Challenge, and
🎁 our major spot prize this year is tickets for two to the Coombabah Trail Run (October 2026), Gold Coast, Australia!
