Mt Oxford Odyssey

Mt Oxford Odyssey The Mt Oxford Odyssey brought to you by La Sportiva has something for everyone. Add in the epic marathon - we believe to be the toughest in the country!

The Mt Oxford Odyssey is a scenic and challenging event that is in a stunning part of New Zealand's wilderness. The 15km trail race is a great undulating trail run suitable for those new to trail running. The 21km mountain race and the 32km mountain challenge are more challenging but certainly worth the effort. The views are amazing and the course technical and exciting. Join us in 2022 for a fun day out in the mountains!

We have taken down the website to save some $$ but don't worry - you can still access some content, results, and also the link to the 2024 Marathon Photos Live images via our Scenic Sports Events website.

We have Merrell Race Tekapo on the 21st of September if you want to come and do another one of our trail running events.

We wanted to let you know as the final decision has been made πŸ‘‰ we are definitely not continuing with the Mt Oxford Odyssey. It appears our original reasons for finishing up in 2024 remain. We are not selling the race. The event name and concept will go down with the ship πŸ₯²

We would like to thank the Department of Conservation for allowing this event to run for the past 10 years. We would like to thank our sponsors for supporting the race over the years as well πŸ™

Thanks to all of the competitors who have entered and supported the race since 2014. It has been an absolutely pleasure to have created and continued this event for so long. Thank you for coming and participating!!

The final word goes to the amazing crew and volunteers. Without the passion behind the scenes the event would never have been as amazing as it has.

We have a few ideas as to what we'll get up to next on this front - we have some plans in the pipeline, so watch this space.

Goodbye for now.

Kerry and the Scenic Sports Events crew.

We have started conversations with the Department of Conservation to see if we can proceed with the event in 2025.

So for now lock in the 5th of April 2025 and we will keep you informed how we get on in the coming weeks and months.

Thanks for all of the support!

Check for a wrap-up email in your inbox tonight. There is info in there about where to pick up your merch if you forgot, where the drop-bags are being placed in town, and also how to order more merch. Thanks to ThermaTech for assisting us with this.
