Back in Seoul and I really think this place has stolen a piece of my heart?!

Last night, among a few others, I visited Mong , a le***an bar hidden down an alleyway in Hongdae. It’s one of the longest running in the city at 14 years, and owner Myoung Hee told me there are now over 20 le***an bars flying under the radar in Seoul. That’s about 20 more than New Zealand, so pretty impressive for a culture that’s still so conservative.

I haven’t made it to all 20+ yet, but I have no doubt I’ll get there one day. For now, my top picks based on firsthand experience:

LE****NS OF AUSTRALIA - (more specifically Queensland) - time to grab a w**e or a tea or a dirty b**r, open up your laptop from the comfort of your couch, and make some new connections.
Over the last few weeks we’ve matched FLINTA* community from the NZ North Island, South Island, Victoria and New South Wales - now it’s your turn!

Alright Le**os, LISTEN UP! We’re on We’re on the prowl for some serious l*z energy. The Camp Ranger role was basically made for le***ans and we need some of you to put your hand up for Melbourne, on the weekend of 16- 18 October.
Not glamorous (although the food and drink is) but genuinely important, and honestly some of the best and most fulfilling fun you’ll have all year.

Free ticket, free accommodation, actually incredible meals, a Ranger patch you’ll wear with pride, and a chance to dance the night away at the Ginger’s Party in a marquee the middle of the bush . Not a bad trade for a weekend.

But more than that, this camp only happens because people show up for it. We’re not-for-profit - entirely self-funded, no corporate backing, just community. And for a lot of our people, especially those outside the cities, this weekend is the one place all year they get to properly unmask and feel connected. That doesn’t happen without Rangers.

So if you’re the “step aside, I can fix this” type, the one who’s first to help and last to leave, uses their carabiner for more than their kegs, loves a job when meeting all their new friends, or prizes themselves in being a cave person fire-starter, swipe through and see if this is you.
