Another Nelson Shibu 50th Anniversary International Tournament feature in The Press

A fabulous rural fair and some impressive karate moves were just a couple of the incredible things that took place this past week around the Nelson region.

On Wednesday evening Seido Karate Nelson had the absolute pleasure of presenting Nelson Tasman Hospice with a heartfelt donation of $5,000.

It was a really important aspect of the Nelson Shibu 50th Anniversary International Tournament to be able to do this at the conclusion of the tournament.

Words cannot express how appreciative we were of the utmost care they provided Eiko Hanshi Andy and how welcoming and accepting they were of the constant flow of visitors over his last weeks. We cannot thank them enough for the service they provide. Osu 🙏

Standing on the mezzanine looking down on the tournament floor at all the karate-ka who travelled to join us, you couldn't help but be in absolute awe of what an amazing family the seido community is. The view was truly EPIC.

As we look back on our anniversary tournament, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who played a part in making it such a successful event.

To Nidaime, the judges and our dedicated competitors, thankyou again for travelling from far and wide to join us; and to the amazing committee and each committee team, recorders, runners, sponsors, food vendors, spectators and helpers, thankyou!

This event was a true team effort and Seido Karate Nelson could not have reached this milestone without you.
