Indie surf movie screening at tonight!

'Skunked' by Isaac Chadwick

"The name "Skunked" is a funny one. It was originally just meant to be a working title but the more I thought about it the more it made sense. In the context of a 2 month trip to Indonesia, only getting about a week (if that) of properly filmable surf constitutes as a skunking. However those days we did get featured some of the most out the gate tubes l've had the privilege of witnessing. So in a sense "Skunked" is both an accurate description of events as well as a bit of a laugh."

Auckland Council are repairing the sealed section of Jack Butt Lane between the (old) Sand Dunz Cafe and just past the campground entry.

The road is in poor condition and needs a full rebuild rather than just patching the pot holes.

Works start tomorrow (4 Dec) and will go until around the 20th Dec.

Muriwai Regional Park, Jack Butt Lane and the Surf Club will remain open during the works.

Work will take place during week days (Monday to Friday) and there will be some delays, the road is likely to be single lane and restrictions on some carparks during the works.

There will be no work on weekends, with the road being 2 lanes, however the road maybe gravel during the works and some carpark restrctions may remain in place.

There will be plenty of parking on the Surf Club front lawn

As this is before the busy Christmas season and the road is open to 2 lanes on weekends we do not expect this to have a significant impact.

Muriwai Beach Open Mic night events have been held fo many years but we are now struggling to find a venue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Surf club is open for showers for those still without power.
We also have 240 volt power and internet.
Please leave the club clean and tidy
