Sprint, Super Sprint, Aquathlon & Elite races — sun, sand, surf & speed! The EVES Surfbreaker Triathlon, run by Triathlon Tauranga, is Mount Maunganui’s ultimate summer race on 27th December every year. Open to ages 11+, it features:

🔥 Super Sprint – 375m surf swim | 10km bike | 2.5km run
🌊 Aquathlon – 750m surf swim | 5km run

🏆 We’re incredibly proud to share that EVES Surfbreaker Triathlon has been named a finalist for the 2025 Triathlon New Zealand Community Event of the Year Award!

What started as a fun day of swim, bike, run, sand, surf, and organised chaos has grown into one of the most loved community triathlon events in the country 🌊☀️

A massive thank you to everyone who has helped make Surfbreaker what it is today. We’re honoured to be recognised alongside some amazing events from around New Zealand.
