5km Run 🏃 around the beautiful Mauao Base Track 🌄

Marra Short Course (16+): 400m Swim 🏊 | 10km Bike 🚴 | 2km Run 🏃

Marra Monsters (11–15 yrs): 400m Swim 🏊 | 10km Bike 🚴 | 2km Run 🏃

Marra Minis (6–10 yrs): 100m Swim 🏊 | 2km Bike 🚴 | 1km Run 🏃

Kids have their own safe transition area 🛡️, separate start times ⏱️, and opportunities to line up with peers, making the day safe, fun, and exciting for young athletes 🎉. This friendly event attracts both local and visiting participants 🌍, from first-time triathletes to experienced racers. 🌿 Community Update

This last week in our beautiful corner of Aotearoa has been simply heartbreaking and tragic. We are deeply saddened by the sheer impact of Thursday’s landslides across our community. With yesterday’s confirmed loss of life at Mauao, many of us will be feeling at a complete loss.

Our thoughts and aroha are with the whānau, families, and loved ones who are facing unimaginable grief. We also want to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of emergency workers, first responders, surf lifesaving teams, iwi, council staff, and others who stepped forward in incredibly difficult circumstances.

For those feeling the significant weight of this week, please know you are not alone. Connecting with others and seeking support can make a real difference. Tauranga City Council will have He Maimai Aroha - a Community Care Centre, open from tomorrow in Mount Maunganui for those who wish to pay their respects. Our event is planned to go ahead. Given the impact of the landslides and the ongoing recovery work, it is likely that parts of the course will need to change. We will continue to work closely with Tauranga City Council and will update participants as soon as we have more clarity.

🎉 The Baker Tilly Staples Rodway Corporate Challenge is back for 2026, and we’re thrilled to be hosting it as part of the Marra Sprint Triathlon! 🎉

That’s right… in 2026 the challenge is open to all Tauranga businesses, so it’s time to gather your workmates, spark some healthy rivalry, and get your team on the start line.

🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃 Enter your workplace team (or teams!) into the Marra Triathlon – Sprint Distance on Saturday 29 March 2026.
Distances: 750m Swim • 20km Bike • 5km Run

🏆 The Baker Tilly Trophy is currently in the hands of KPMG, and the 2026 winners will not only claim the trophy but also enjoy a celebratory morning tea supplied by KPMG at your workplace.
The trophy is held for the year, then passed on to the next champions, keeping the friendly competition rolling from one event to the next.

Say hello to triKIDZ! 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Got kids keen to swim, bike and run like champs? triKIDZ is the perfect way to try tri in a fun, friendly, and no-pressure environment!

💥 We keep it simple, active and full of laughs while teaching the basic skills they'll need for triathlon.

🎯 Term 4 is all about gearing up for the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon (Nov 30th) — and we’ll warm up with the GenX Marra Tinman Splash ‘n’ Dash (Nov 23rd) as a practice event!

🎯 Term 1 gets the kids in form for the Marra Mini’s Triathlon (Mar 29th)

👨‍🏫 Led by awesome Tri NZ Accredited Coaches Blake Miller, Pete Campbell, and Kent Horner — all police vetted and absolute legends with kids.

🎉 FREE for current Youth Members of Triathlon Tauranga (membership just $35 for the whole year).
