Funfest Auckland . The Funfest Charitable Trust was formed in 2000 with the sole purpose of creating a free event for families of Auckland.

Our focus was to bring families and communities together in a positive environment. We've successfully created a fun safe place for families to enjoy every year. Thousands of families have grown up with Funfest. Our event has grown to an audience of over 40,000 people annually from all over the country and all ages. We are the only annual Auckland summer event with free entry, free parking, free r

ides and free prizes. There is simply no other event that compares with Funfest in terms of attractions, scale and social responsibility. Our event now includes an invitational day for children with special needs and their families. We've also added the Funfest Family Expo promoting a range of products and services that encourage family well-being, health, education and careers. Funfest 2026 has come to a close, and one moment stood above the rest for our crew. This week, Brett Rodgers retired from the Funfest stage, marking the end of an era for our sound and lighting whānau.

After 18 years shaping the heartbeat, the atmosphere, and the magic of our festival, Brett has been honoured as the first-ever individual inductee into the Funfest Hall of Legends.

His craft has lifted tens of thousands of smiles, powered every unforgettable moment, and set the benchmark for excellence behind the scenes.

From the moment the gates opened to the very last ride today, you brought the energy, the laughter, the joy, and the magic that makes Funfest the powerhouse community event it is.

To the thousands of people who came through — rain, shine, and everything in between — ngā mihi nui.

Your smiles, your patience, your hype, your kindness… that’s what fuels this festival every single year.
