The Schedule for the November 2014 LUDH event includes two days this year. We kick off on Saturday Afternoon the 22nd November with a Big Air Dirt Jump Festival and finish on Sunday Evening the 23rd November with the much loved Urban Down Hill. (Rain dates will be one week later on the 29th and 30th November. )

On Saturday the atmosphere will be like a street party, promising spectacular enterta

inment and delicious food. Starting at 5pm and finishing at 8pm this summer evening will be memorable inspired by the Vienna AIR King event. The Premier Sponsor for the Big Air Dirt Event will be announced in August. It will be a Canterbury Demolition and Excavation Company who knows how to support the communities that need a lift. Dirt Jump Riders will be invited from NZ and Australia to compete for a total of $3000 prize money. The Lyttelton Urban Down Hill will start with a practice session from 10am -12pm on Sunday the 23rd. Followed by a final for the Open and Junior Men from 1-3pm. This year we will have a invitational Pro Elite Event following the Local riders finishing at 3pm. There will Professional World Cup Down Hill and World Tour Urban Riders Practicing and Competing from 3:30 -6:30 with our London Street Finish at 6:30. This Event is a non- profit event run by a local mountain bike trust. We do not charge an entry fee but we do welcome volunteers and donations. Thousands of spectators lined the streets of Lyttelton, Christchurch, as some of the country's top mountain bikers dropped in on the streetscape.

The third Lyttelton Urban Downhill mountain bike event was held during the weekend with 70 competitors from New Zealand and Australia riding the 1.2km course - with a 160m vertical drop - from Somes Rd to London St.

Top Kiwi rider Cam Cole took out the event for a second consecutive year with a time of one minute 36 seconds, while popular rider Wyn Masters claimed the silver medal for the third time in a row.

Thanks to all the sponsors who make this event possible...especially GoPro for the film budget, rider & course cams.

Every good Urban Down Hill needs a great waster management company. Waste had skips coming and going within the hour of when we ordered them. Very Efficient team at Enviro. Incredible

DJ - or DirtJumping made its first appearance as part of a big weekend of bike action in the Canterbury port town of Lyttelton - New Zealand. Thanks to the efforts of Kelly McGarry and some special support partners.
