Hi everyone ❤️ It’s been an amazing few years running Halloween in the Hutt.
What started as a small passion project to keep my neighbourhood connected during Halloween somehow ballooned into a community-driven celebration and resource relied on by thousands of people across the Wellington Region.
That’s all thanks to the hundreds of homes and businesses across Upper and Lower Hutt who take part every year.
With that said… is there anyone who would be interested in taking Halloween in the Hutt over?
It would be such a shame to shut it down, but I no longer live in the Wellington Region and would love to hand it over to someone (or a small group) who has a passion for Halloween and, more importantly, a love for the community.
If you’re interested, please message me or email [email protected].
Halloween is only around the corner, so you’ll have your work cut out for you 😂 but trust me, it’s worth it when you see both kids and adults getting involved.
I didn’t start this to win awards or get recognition. I did it because I loved seeing our communities do something fun, creative and exciting together.
For me, Halloween isn’t just for kids. It’s an opportunity for everyone to be a little silly, get creative, meet their neighbours and, for one night, just have fun.
I’d really love to see Halloween in the Hutt continue rather than disappear. 🎃🧡
Thanks for the amazing memories! Hopefully my next post will be about the handover and call out to participate in the 2026 Halloween map!
Cheers,
Gemma M
