Kerikeri Street Party

Kerikeri Street Party Don't miss the annual Kerikeri Street Party when we close the streets to eat, drink and dance! By 5 pm, we are ready to roll, and the party begins.

After the annual Kerikeri Half Marathon presentation wraps up, our organising volunteers spring into action. The Kerikeri shopping precinct is closed to traffic at each vehicle entrance to the east, west and south. Now our musicians and foodies start setting up their stalls and music equipment at carefully organised locations the length of Kerikeri main street. Lighting is erected, and other public facilities delivered and moved into place.

Woohoo!🎉Plan B was a roaring success thanks to all of you that came and partied at The Packhouse!

We would like to extend a HUGE thanks to Judy and Warrick and the team at The Old Packhouse Kerikeri. The team at Jacman Entertainment do a lot of events there and we love working with them. They really are legends 🥰

Thankyou to Barfoot & Thompson Kerikeri and Bay of Islands - Whangaroa Community Board for their continued support of the event at the alternative site. This support made it all possible.

Shout out to Kerikeri District Business Association, Halvo Signs, Rocksalt Restaurant & Bar and Clarkes Buses for their contributions to volunteers, signage and free shuttles.

Special mention to Kerikeri Community Patrol who volunteered to come and support, be our extra eyes and ears to keep you all safe alongside the security team Kia Tupato.

And to the bands, crew and vendors who were all fantastic and made it a great event, well done all!

We would love to hear your thoughts on the future of the Street Party. Do we go back to Kerikeri CBD (more unique, special event...but more costly so need to get more sponsors and charge a small entry fee) or move it permanently to the Packhouse (less costs, more space, maybe more family friendly?)

There are pros and cons with both options....what do YOU want to see Kerikeri? Let us know 🤩

Big ups to the powers that be...we have a liquor license for Plan B!

We were all pretty devastated we couldn't make the party work in the street this year...boring old funding cuts...its affecting so many community events like ours that can't afford the increased costs.

Thanks to the hard work of the team at Jacman Entertainment and The Old Packhouse Kerikeri we have this fantastic alternative that is now fully licensed! Massive thanks to Jackie and Judy for making it happen. We also have to give huge thanks to Barfoot & Thompson Kerikeri who are getting in behind the party and the Bay of Islands - Whangaroa Community Board for reallocation of funds towards our security and infrastructure costs.

The event will be FREE ENTRY, we have cracking music across 2 zones, multiple food vendors and 2 bars serving a mix of great Northland wines and craft beer as well as spirits / RTDs.

It all kicks off from 5pm on Saturday and we are an all-weather venue with plenty of indoor and outdoor space.

Please read our event info for all the transport options.
Tell your friends and see you there! 😁

**STATEMENT RE KERIKERI STREET PARTY 2025**
We have sadly decided to not proceed with this years Kerikeri Street Party. Don't panic...we do plan to continue in future years!! Jacman Entertainment has supported this event for the last 7 years, the last 5 years we have assumed the entire financial risk, fundraising, securing sponsorships and full organisation of the event. We happily do this as our giveback to the community ❤️ A few things have impacted us this year and despite having booked all the artists, production and had the Traffic Management signed off early....we have to take a break. There are a few reasons why…

1. FNDC need to be more supportive of events. We have had many events throughout October and the extra conditions, paperwork and subsequent impact on our time and costs have been a major factor. This isn't just us...every supplier, local businesses or venues we work with echo our frustrations and are having the same experience. We will be banding together to address this collectively. It has to stop...or we will stop doing events as it is too hard in this region which already has enough challenges.

2. The Kerikeri Half Marathon organisers advised they wished to distance themselves from the Kerikeri Street Party as the long queues for food were mentioned frequently in their customer satisfaction surveys and negatively impacted their rating. This is difficult for us to control as we often get food vendors pull out last minute and we only support local vendors at this event. This could impact attendances.

3. Funding and sponsorships were incredibly hard to secure this year. We still had the fantastic support of Barfoot & Thompson Kerikeri and Bay of Islands - Whangaroa Community Board, but this represented less than half of what we had last year. We had applied to several funding pots but were unsuccessful.

4. The Brynderwyns is closed that weekend...despite us advising that was our date. This is likely to have a major impact on our attendances, adding another layer of financial risk.

It is disappointing to see the Kerikeri District Business Association put out a press release on this. We were not advised this would happen, nor were we sent a copy of the release. This first we knew of this was a phone call from the media in the midst of us running the biggest conference ever hosted in the Far North, an event that injected over $1million into the local economy.

We have not seen any effort from the Kerikeri District Business Association to promote the Savour Northland events with multiple local Kerikeri businesses, cafes, restaurants, suppliers, vineyards participating. They were sent all our press releases...but clearly its too much effort to share those great local events that benefit the local economy. Business Bay of Islands have shared the details weekly.

We also had no acknowledgement of the $1000 we donated from last years Street Party towards the Hanging Baskets...our name was left off all thankyous which we found incredibly disappointing.

We have a multitude of events this weekend that will be serving up great Northland food, wines, craft beer, spirits plus music and a massive kids party in our large pavilion marquee with Anika Moa.

We know you will be disappointed we are taking a break on the Street Party, but please come and enjoy one or more of the great events we have this weekend (details below!), or get out and try a Savour Northland Challenge dish...they are all spectacular!

And here is a Promo Code for a 25% discount on any of our Big Weekend events as a token of our appreciation for supporting us over the last few years >> use the code BIG25 on checkout

The Barfoot & Thompson Kerikeri Street Party 2024 gives back!

Local charities and projects have benefitted from this year’s successful Kerikeri Street Party with $2,600 donated by organiser, Jacman Entertainment, to BaldAngels, Coast to Coast Cat Rescue and the Kerikeri District Business Association.

The Bay of Islands much-loved annual street party returned to Kerikeri town centre on the 16th of November and saw over 3,500 revelers eat, drink and dance the night away.

“This year’s Kerikeri Street Party was an epic celebration” said Jackie Sanders, Jacman Entertainment, “As well as a much-needed economic boost to our local food, beverage and entertainment industry, we are extremely proud to support some wonderful local causes.”

BaldAngels Charitable Trust supports Northland whānau all year with education, mentoring and the annual Angels at Christmas campaign to deliver kai boxes and gifts to struggling families across the mid and Far North. This year is harder than ever for many and donations are down. We are pleased to donate $1000 towards their incredible work.

The Kerikeri District Business Association will also receive a $1000 donation towards the Hanging Baskets project. We bring the colour and vibrancy one day each year to the CBD and we are pleased to contribute towards this beautification project which brings the colour for many months. The KKDBA committee also supported our funding application which helped make the event possible, and all volunteered to assist on our busy gates!

Coast to Coast Cat Rescue is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming unwanted stray cats and kittens. An uncontrolled cat population has a significant impact on our environment, and they educate on de-sexing and vaccination. Run completely by local volunteers, they ensure they find temporary foster carers while a fur-ever home is found. We are delighted to donate $600 towards their on-going costs.

The event and these donations would not have been possible without the generous support of our key sponsors, Barfoot & Thompson Kerikeri and One New Zealand. We extend a huge thankyou to these two community-minded local businesses who helped choose the recipients, as well as The Oxford Sports Trust, Kerikeri District Business Association, Laser Electrical Northland, Northland Inc, Seeka and Black Collar Distillery for their on-going support. Not forgetting the food and beverage vendors, musicians, crew, volunteers and all the party-goers who made this year’s event rock!

We look forward to dancing in the street again in 2025. Meri kirihimete Northland!
