🎢 Property Brokers country... 🎢

It truly was PB country at the Otairi Station Race with both GM of Rural Conrad Wiltshire and local Rural agent Ted Shannon not only turning it up as Premier Sponsor but also turning up in the flesh to put in the Mahi behind the Bar and BBQ to help us folks out with a bit of extra muscle.

If you need to buy it, or need to sell it, and it's rural, then these are the folks you need to call. They are who we turn to time and again, there's definitely no B.S from team P.B.

Next time you see them, don't forget to give them a shout as a thanks for their generous sponsorship too.

The good guys at Velo Ronny's Bicycle Store are sure to be found locally wherever there's talk of bike's around, and this year they didn't disappoint with their generous sponsorship of the Otairi Station Race.

With Nationwide shipping, you don't have to be a Whanganui local to support this team so get to checking out their range which stocks a wide variety of popular brands such as Trek | Sinch | Bontrager | Fox | Vittoria | Pure | DEITY | Garmin | Kask, they even have an awesome range of balance bikes for the Tots! Not bike related, but their Madd Scooter Stands have saved this mama some sanity at times too!πŸ›΄πŸ€ͺ

Hop on over and check them out, and be sure to give them a thanks for their support for the second year running!

These two epic people from Local Food NZ were part of our amazing group of event sponsors this weekend just been.

Emma and Scott reached out last year to make sure the event was a memorable one by offering some of their seriously tasty Local Food NZ free range eggs for our prize winners.

They also then turned up in the day and braved the weather and mud to run in support of the race! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Check their goodies out at

A massive thankyou to everyone who joined us today for our second Otairi Station Race event. We had challenging weather conditions but spirits remained high and the day was a great success. Special thanks to everyone who braved the rain to compete today, and to all the volunteers from the community who helped make the event possible. We will have more photos from the day uploaded to Facebook in coming days.

Calling all those who had been planning on running the cancelled Tussock Traverse this weekend.

We are very sorry to see that the organisers have had to call off the race, it's gutting when that amount of hard work is called off. However, since our event is solely for the benefit of the kids of Hunterville School we are hoping you will cut us some slack in saying that we are ready and waiting to welcome you to our Otairi Station Race on Saturday 3rd Feb.

With 5km, 20km and 30km run options we can offer you varied and challenging terrain, a great atmosphere and a bloody good Bar and BBQ post race.

Located in Hunterville, our race will be a great bandaid, we even have views of Ruapehu!

The Silver Fern Farms post-race BBQ really went off last year! No-one could resist fueling up their empty tank post-race with this spread, plus a few of us who were happy bystanders.

With the BBQ manned by Silver Fern Farms stalwarts, the main event offers you the finest lamb rack & Beef NZ has to offer. Other local good guys such as New World Marton and Speirs Foods have also kindly donated to bring this amazing spread back again for the 2024 race.

A big thanks to our headline sponsor this year, Property Brokers.

We will have Property Brokers GM of Rural, Conrad Wilshire as our MC on the day and running our prize giving. If you have read the Farmers Weekly you will know Conrad has good chat.

Running the Bar on the day will be local Rural Real Estate Agent, Ted Shannon. Ted has a wealth of experience when it comes to both bars and real estate.

Hunterville School and the Race Day organisers wish to thank the generous support of these guys and the team at Property Brokers.

Come down on the day, support the competitors and enjoy the hospitality at our Silver Fern Farms BBQ and Property Brokers Bar!

Quick PSA to the MTB & E-Bike crew out there who are joining us this weekend from our head bikey chick Kym Skerman..

"After a reccie ride of the course yesterday we are very happy to report that the tracks are riding mint!

If you participated last year it will be a very different riding experience this year with dry and fast clay based surfaces (rather than slipping and sliding in the mud)! However as well as the hard dry surfaces the dry conditions have also created some loose metal and dust to be weary of in the downhill sections.

The 30km loop has a newly formed downhill track to ride on. This is very steep and quite loose and bumpy in places. It is extremely important that you check your brake pads or disc brakes to ensure you are at full operational capacity front and back. As you will also be finishing on a fast dry downhill, your brakes will need to last the distance.

It is a very honest ride and with some great climbing challenges but super fun downhill as well.

Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday."
