Brian and the crew on Phinda towed the vessel back in until they met up with Coastguard who took over. We awarded Brian with the good bastard award and he took home a Makaira Game Rod for his efforts!

Junior members Kaydee Attwood & Olly MacKenzie also got some special awards for being the only 2 juniors fishing the comp - Olly even tagged his first stripey on board GST with dad Ken Mackenzie (who is also a huge sponsor of the recent roof work that has been taking place at the club) and crew!
Kaydee and Olly both took home shamino Rod & reel set!

Again congratulations to all our prize winners, to anyone who had a "first" moment out there on the water and a massive thank you to everyone who helped make this tournament such a bloody good time!

Houhora club members Jake Burton, Ethan Mills & Nick Licence had a great day today in the Houhora One Base, with Nick Licence tagging a striped marlin and Jacob Burton landing the 1st Broadbill for the Houhora club this season.
The 'She's Gonna Sell Me 2' team were targeting broadbill and also had a live bait out the back of the boat. The skippy was taken by a striped marlin just after 11am this morning resulting in a tag & release for Nick.
The broadbill was landed late this afternoon and did not arrive at the weighstation until 8.15pm, after the weighstation had closed for the day. This means the fish will go into tomorrows prizegiving.
Unfortunately the two kingfish they caught yesterday didn't make it to the weighstation before 6pm either, and were not accepted for the competition.
Congratulations team, great effort.
