Welcome to Tōmoana Showgrounds, a multi-use event venue located just a five-minute drive from Hastings city centre. The venue offers an extensive green site with multiple zones that can be utilised individually or as a collective and scaled to suit any event, along with the Exhibition Hall, a large indoor building that can host seated dinners, banquets, exhibitions & conferences, smaller live perf

ormances and physical activities. An iconic venue, Tōmoana Showgrounds hosts a wide range of events throughout the year, and its picturesque Waikoko Gardens is home to the renowned Hawke’s Bay Farmers' Market where every Sunday thousands of people flock to enjoy a taste of Hawke’s Bay. Situated right on the edge of Hastings City, accommodation is close by and travel to and from the cities of both Napier and Hastings is easy. The Tōmoana Showgrounds are blessed with plenty of space with a huge variety of spaces and facilities on offer. We can cater for any numbers including rooms for under 100 people, Exhibition Hall for dinners up to 450 and space for large scale trade events, sports events, weddings or unique 'rural flavoured' events. Our team are event professionals are on hand to assist in making your event successful. Tōmoana Showgrounds is proudly owned and operated by Hastings District Council.

Congratulations to Hawke's Bay Farmers' Market regulars Hōhepa Hawkes Bay for winning a number of awards at the Outstanding Food Producer Awards and the NZ Champions of Cheese Awards 2026 and once again being named For the BYD Auto New Zealand Sustainability Champion 👏

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that one of our local producers, Hōhepa Hawke’s Bay has swept a fantastic collection of awards at the Outstanding Food Producer Awards and the NZ Champions of Cheese Awards 2026!

For the second year in a row, Hōhepa Hawke’s Bay has also been named BYD Auto New Zealand Sustainability Champion. The judges highlighted their longstanding commitment to organic, biodynamic, and regenerative farming, while producing exceptional quality food and creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. A combination that truly is “hard to beat.”

This success is a beautiful reflection of the care, skill, and dedication that flows from the land and the herd, right through to the hands that craft every cheese with legacy and intention. It’s a true celebration of community, purposeful work, and exceptional quality.
